Vancouver is beautiful all year round, but autumn is my favourite season. The fiery colours make for beautiful pictures and the temperature is just right. So grab your pumpkin spice latte and breathe in that crisp fall air!

There is a reason they say “an apple a day…” A family event for all ages, the UBC Apple Festival celebrates one of BC’s favourite fruits. But seriously, the colours of the season need to be appreciated, and these are the best neighbourhoods and places to snap some photos and enjoy the changing trees:
- West End/English Bay
- Queen Elizabeth Park
- Stanley Park
- Kitsilano

- UBC
- More excellent rain or shine strolls in the city can be found here.
Capture the Colours
If you’re looking for more a structured walk around the city, a there are some great guided tours of the city, including photo tours like this, historical tours like this, and self-guided tours of the murals around the city with this map. (The 2018 iteration of the Vancouver Mural Festival was in July so you will get to see the new works as well as those from previous years!
Run Around
If you’re a runner (I am not, but I admire those who can do it!), there are still some run clubs and race opportunities in the city. On that comes to mind is the Granville Island Turkey Trot. Info on this race and others coming up in October can be found here. All of the best walking areas are also the best running spots, so be sure to check those out here.
Hike It Out
Personally, I like hiking in slightly cooler temperatures. So I really enjoy this time of year. And with the leaves changing, it’s really the prettiest time of year to be wandering the trails. Stanley Park and Pacific Spirit Park a have great year-round trails, and you can check out some more options here.
Get Lost in the Chilliwack Corn Maze
The Chilliwack Corn Maze is one of those places where everyone can have fun. And now that it’s officially autumn, it is the activity you will want to get in the car for the drive to Chilliwack for a day trip. It is the perfect place for a date or a day of family fun. The maze is located at a family farm in Chilliwack and is always highly anticipated. This is also a great place to get your pumpkins for Halloween! Get your tickets here.
