Get ready to have all your chocolate dreams come to life. The long-awaited new Toronto KitKat store is opening in the 6ix at Yorkdale Shopping Centre. This is no ordinary chocolate shop, though, as the tall, boarded-up wall at Yorkdale will soon transform into Canada’s very first KitKat “chocolatory.”
News of a “chocolatory” coming north of the border broke in the summertime but back then, there were no real details available regarding the opening date. Well, the chocolate gods have finally spoken and the date has been announced for the new location.
Toronto’s KitKat chocolatory, which began life as a limited-time pop-up in the city, will open permanently on November 14 at Yorkdale.
If you don’t already know what the KitKat chocolatory is, its a DIY KitKat restaurant/shop where you’re able to explore your creative side and make your very own custom KitKat. If its anything like the pop-up shop that blessed the streets of Toronto, then you can expect three different chocolate choices (white, dark and milk chocolate) and up to 16 different toppings like sprinkles and rose petals.
You might also be able to purchase limited-edition KitKats that aren’t sold anywhere else, which is a pretty exciting reason to take a break” here once it opens.
This location is here to stay so don’t panic if you’re unable to make it on opening day, as there’s more than enough time to try it out for yourself.
If you plan to arrive opening day, make sure you get there early because long lines are definitely expected.
It could be a perfect idea for a fun date night, maybe an outing with friends, or just a perfect gift idea for the holiday season. You’ll be able to show off your one-of-a-kind KitKat, that’ll be made just by you.
